All too often people have misconceptions about professional photographers. They often decide photographers are privileged, having access to people and events others just dream about. They may believe that photographers are always flying off to amazing destinations for photo shoots. They look at photographers and wonder how they scored such an easy job, just hauling around a camera and shooting pictures all day.
It may be easy to look at photography as a profession and get that impression. After all, photographers find themselves in some pretty high profile situations. Photographers are needed to take pictures at professional sporting events, posh celebrity affairs, political campaigns, natural disasters-they are always right in the thick of the action, clicking away! How can people not be envious?
The truth is, photography demands a great deal of expertise and education. Photographers have to build a large body of technical and artistic knowledge to climb to the height of their profession. Just look at any advanced camera. The number of manual adjustments necessary to get the light and focus right before shooting confounds most mortals. The average Joe is more than satisfied to set his camera on automatic and never try with such things as shooting fireworks against a dark sky or capturing a downhill skier in the dead of winter.
To be sure, photography is a dream profession. The ability to take memorable photos is highly rewarding in and of itself, and many people take it up as a serious hobby. With all the possibilities afforded by digital cameras and state of the art computer programs with which to manipulate photographs, the profession is affording new possibilities all the time.
Professional photography degrees have been the training ground for many careers. If you love photography, but are not in a position to take classes at a traditional trade school or college, there is a superb online program offered by one of the nation?s oldest and most respected photography schools. You can train for a photography career without interrupting your present schedule or breaking the bank. Online classes are an optimal solution for busy, budding photographers.

The rise of Free Masonry as a political and cultural force commenced at the end of the 1900’s. But what is very curious with regard to this episode in history is that it coincided with an acceleration of the imminent explosion of Egytological studies which gained considerable momentum at that time.
Although the story is clouded by cranks and obsessives, a few details are beyond dispute. Whatever its precise origins, Freemasonry undeniably played an extremely significant role in the eighteenth-century scientific, political, and cultural advances which we now call the Enlightenment.
During this remarkable time in history most major figures in history were either mason or influenced by Freemasonry and all masons were Egyptophiloes. The Masons claimed that they drew their beginnings from Egypt and made these claims by pointing to Egyptian texts and an lineage dating to the Egyptian priesthood.
The masons saw their lodges as Egyptian temples and decorated them with all manner of Egyptian symbols, including the still misunderstood hieroglyphs: hence, among other phenomena, the image of the pyramid and the eye, placed on the reverse of the Great Seal of the United States and dollar bill.
Even Napoleon was involved in certain Masonic affairs even though it remains uncertain whether he himself was a Mason. Yet, it is a matter of conspiratorial record that some of his imperial emblems were Masonic-Egyptian and that Freemasonry flourished under his rule.
On May 19, 1798 the time was ripe for Napoleon to spread the theory of Egyptophila on a massive scale. Napoleon set sail from southern France for Egypt to launch his campaign and thus his invasion of the land of the Pharaoh’s. This became one of the most important dates in the history of the Great Pyramid.

The financial pressures placed on people today are far greater than any previous generation. With gas prices soaring to levels previously unheard of and the economy crashing to the ground under the pressure of bloated credit accounts and bad mortgages it makes sense that any person in the workplace today wants to always find that edge that keeps them ahead of everyone else. But with many people struggling to find time for their lives outside of the regular demands of their day jobs it is almost impossible to continue to upgrade a person’s education the standard way. No one has time to go to class anymore. That is where distance learning comes in. The term distance learning has replaced the term correspondence course as the new way people learn and get a higher education on their own schedule. However with the advancement of computers and the Internet it can be said that distance learning is not like a correspondence course at all. Because of the power of the Internet distance learning is not unlike getting a proper classroom education and a distance learning degree is much more respected now than a correspondence course degree ever was previously.
Many times people take for granted exactly how much the Internet really does impact our daily lives and to really see that in action all you need to do is take a look at the proliferation of distance learning websites today. It used to be that the traditional institutions of higher learning shunned correspondence courses, making them less valuable in the workplace. But distance learning has brought remote classroom learning to a new level and some of the players getting involved in offering distance learning degrees reads like a who’s who of higher education.
So Much More To Offer Than Ever Before
The traditional correspondence course offerings did not translate very well into the Internet age. I am sure we all remember the Sally Struthers commercials that asked if we all wanted to make more money and then told us how to get our degree through a correspondence course. Unfortunately television commercials with celebrities do not bring respect to an institution of higher learning and many of the correspondence schools did not make the cut when the Internet really kicked in.
Today there is a strong need for a distance learning school to be accredited and while that accreditation process is still under some evolution it is very necessary for a distance learning school to offer more than was offered before in the field of home classroom learning.

If you’re thinking about starting a career in the wine industry or you simply have boundless passion for the vine, working in a wine sales job can be a great way to jump start your career. You’ll learn the ropes of selling, even tasting wine while you’re at it and this experience will help you become a real player in the industry.
Direct wine sales, telemarketing and online sales: these are the tricks utilized by retail sellers and wine sales people. These techniques have distinct advantages to them.
In store sales involve the seller personally assisting the customer to find exactly the right wine for him or her. But the tricky part is that the seller should first have in depth knowledge of wine selling, which would include knowledge of the process of wine making and the factors induced by age, brand and even taste. Therefore a lot of experience is needed for this method to work.
The telephone on the other hand can make your list of customers grow substantially. Asking for the customer’s number and for referrals is a very common path to gaining more customers. Joints such as hotels and restaurants that always have wine are also popular clients to supply. The telephone is a very good tool to build friendships and long-term business with your customers because of the ability to personally update them on the arrival of new wines.
And if that seems to limiting for you, many wine sellers can even use the power of the internet to sell their products. Wines are usually advertised on the sellers websites and as such are exposed to various possible markets and customers each day. With your credit card or money order, you can get your favorite wine at your doorstep in no time. Not a bad technological twist to something that has been enjoyed by people for centuries!

Whether you’ve passed elementary, high school or college, there’s one very special document you look forward to receiving-a diploma. For many people, receiving this is a very wonderful part of their lives. A diploma might seem just like a typical piece of paper, but it’s actually a significant document. It proves that a person has finished a particular phase of his or her educational journey. The diploma is also a mark of success, an evidence that a person has passed through all the hardships and obstacles of their schooling. It’s definitely a cherished certificate.
Because of the importance of the diploma whether significantly or as a official document, diplomas are usually placed inside a frame. Frames are commonly used to protect and preserve the diploma. Some individuals, frame their diploma so that they may be able to display this special certificate.
You can see various kinds of diploma frames, but they are all made from either of three materials. Wood is one very common kind of material used for diploma frames. It’s not only elegant, but it’s also durable and tough, making it an ideal choice for a frame. Wooden diploma frames can be made from different kinds of wood, such as pine, mahogany and walnut. Some have mouldings and elaborate carvings on them. Other frames have beautiful golden linings, which accent the wood perfectly. To totally seal and protect the document, a glass pane is placed over the frame.
Another popular, but less costly material used for diploma frames is aluminum. Despite being affordable, frames made from this material provide an innovative and lustrous appearance to diplomas. Aluminum diploma frames can be placed onto tables, desks or wall, and they can easily catch any person’s attention because of their shiny look.
Plastic frames may also be used for diplomas. Among all the diploma frames, plastic is perhaps the less costly. Plastic frames come in a number of colors; however for diploma frames, black, blue and brown are the most preferred color. There are also plastic frames that is designed to imitate wooden frames. A glass pane is also placed on top to protect the certificate, however, there are those that also uses a plastic pane as a substitute to glass panes.

Many people wrongly assume that being a family business has little to no impact on the running of a company. However studies have shown that family ownership and management does have a decidedly significant impact on the running of the company.
Research suggests that 70% of the family run businesses that do not succeed (family owned companies have a life expectancy of just 24 years) fail because the owner/manager did not appreciate the dynamics of managing such a family business.
The first question to ask is what is a family owned business? There is much debate about this issue; however for the purposes of this article a family business is one that has a majority share owned by one family (over 51%).
Given the amount of conflict that exists within families, is it any surprise that companies that are family businesses allow some of that conflict to affect the company? This is a perfectly natural thing to happen and it is important to plan processes and systems for dealing with this before it happens, rather than wait till emotions are heated and tempers have flared.
Another key area to look at it is succession planning in your family owned business. Succession issues in family businesses are markedly different than in non-family businesses, especially so in an industry that is fragmented, unsophisticated, and vulnerable to powerful outsiders. It is vital to the long term survival of family businesses that the leaders engage with this issue and create a workable process around it.
Strategy formulation in a family business is another key area to look at for maximum growth and effectiveness. It is crucial to get this area right as strategy is the core building block of any company. What can happen is family based dynamics and conflicts get in the way of proper creation and implementation of strategy. It’s important to not let these factors get in the way of your company implementing the right strategy if it’s to survive long term.
Business survival can be challenging and it can be even more challenging if there are family conflicts in place. To ensure the survival of your family business you need to make sure that you are dealing with potential issues proactively through putting in place processes and guidelines rather than waiting till challenges arise.
Obviously the points in this article may have different degrees of relevance depending on how much family involvement there is inside the company, however this article has attempted to give a general overview of the sort of things to think about and act upon.

Mental coaching has been utilized for a long time by those involved in sports, as a way of generating mental preparation for the rigors of the game or the competition. However, mental coaching skills that are applied in a sports setting, can easily be applied also to business communication.
The process of increasing communication between personnel and executives can be a very complicated process in any business. There are a wide variety of different factors like power, income, and education that causes a natural separation. But, teaching the varying groups to work together can be a great asset to any business or organization.
Getting employees to identify and rid themselves of the unhealthy beliefs that hold them back from producing quality work is one to get employees to communicate more effectively. For instance, a worker who feels their ideas are not valued by the executives may choose not to share them which in turn may hinder the company from improving overall.
A ‘game plan’ is another way of improving communication with this type of coaching. This requires cooperation within the groups to come to decisions about goals and plans on how to achieve them. This mental coaching rule puts a foundation down upon which different departments can work together without being concerned about whether or not they are working outside of their bounds on something they shouldn’t.
Another rule of sports mental coaching is ‘Increase your trust in the arena.’ Obviously there is no ‘arena’ in business, but executives must actually learn to trust each other to generate success in their organization. Oftentimes, executives are afraid that if they don’t do something themselves, it won’t be done right, but that is generally not true. Thus, executives need to learn to trust those that they hire as good people, in fact the proper people to get the job done right.
An important aspect of mental coaching for the business world is to change the prevailing attitudes of both personnel and executives in the workplace. When the personnel believe that the upper management is no longer out to take advantage of them, and the executives no longer feel that the employees lack ability, things will fall quickly into place.
There are many parallels between sports coaching and business coaching. Helping personnel to work in teams, to communicate, to trust their team mates and to develop good skills are similar in sports or business. Good communication is important to a sports team and good business communication is vital to any business. Mental coaching is used in both areas to define success, create a “game plan” and overcome the mental barriers to success. Developing a great team that understand the goals, understand their team and their roles is as important to a successful business as it is to a winning team.

Do you often get frustrated trying to help your child master ideas and skills he needs for school? Certainly tasks such as absorbing addition and multiplication facts, language and spelling rules, and the stops on the spice route can be less than fun. If you have ever given up in despair over a third grader who still adds on his fingers stop fretting: you are far from alone. Everyone could use a little back up, and that is where educational computer games come in. There are lots of free educational computer games online to help your child in any subject. These games can be very useful in helping your child achieve in school, and they are certainly more fun than time spent in a stand-off with a child who insists it is impossible to memorize the multiplication facts. Picking the right educational computer games can save everyone a lot of frustration.
What should you look for when choosing between the mind-boggling variety of educational computer games? The main goal for most parents is to see their children achieve, and instilling confidence is a good beginning. Educational computer games that motivate children while giving them the positive reinforcement they need will encourage your child to aim. Confidence is an important component in education.
Another aspect to look for in educational computer games is the level of difficulty. Your child should be able to begin play at a comfortable level but always have room to move ahead. Good games have many increasing levels of difficulty. Mastering one concept should lead to another, while keeping old skills polished.
Finally, the best educational computer games should be visually interesting. The world of the game should be a setting that entices your child. If your child loves space, fantasy, the old west, fairytale kingdoms, superheroes, tropical jungles, or even skateboarding you can look for games that educate while indulging a particular interest.
Learning should not be an exercise in frustration. Children who play educational computer games get excited about the game and often forget they are even learning. The more exciting a game is, the more they want to play and the more they will excel.
