Are you underpaid, and over worked? Do you put in excessive an effort in your career life and give up too much of your free time? Are you a consummate professional and in need of a pay raise? If so, you’re one the millions who are in the same boat.
Earning a higher salary is not a factor of luck, it is a matter of being proactive and building yourself a well planned case for negotiating a pay raise. When you have a well planned case, you can approach your boss in a totally empowered way, and you give yourself the best chance of success.
Each person has a motive for asking for a pay increase. In order to get there though, you need to step up your skills in salary negotiation. What are your motivations? Here are some great thoughts.
1. Being respected by your boss. One common motivation for people is when they feel respected by their employers. When they feel respected, they are encouraged to do better work and step up their professional game. When you approach salary negotiation like a professional, you’re employer will recognize it, and will respect you more.
2. Respect for yourself. By going after the salary raise, and planning and preparing for a salary negotiation that you bring to a successful close, you will feel a great sense of accomplishment. You not only know you’re a hard working and deserving employee, you also know others believe it too. You will feel a great sense of pride in yourself when you negotiate a higher salary!
3. Extra cash flow. The main reason for negotiating your salary is to earn more money. You may want more income because you want to take a trip or a buy some special treat for yourself, or you may feel you need it to plan for your retirement. Either way, you won’t win the salary negotiation based on your wants or needs. You must have a solid foundation.
4. Improved benefits. You may not only negotiate more salary, you may also be able to negotiate or compromise for additional benefits. Think of what you can do with extra vacation, paid overtime, stock options, or paid parking. These benefits may be a small concession to the employer and mean a lot to you. In order to be effective, you need to excel in your salary negotiation skills.
5. The higher your starting salary, the bigger your raise will be when it comes time for a scheduled pay increase. The sooner you negotiate a higher salary for yourself, the more likely you are to gain a larger increase when the next annual increase comes around. If your increases are based on a percentage of your current salary, this is particularly relevant.
There are a tons of reasons to increase your skills in salary negotiation. Your career is not something to be taken lightly, and having a solid foundation in negotiating will be highly beneficial to your career.

Being a student is expensive. Many find that although they have graduated from college, the debt that they piled up while students puts a serious strain on their budget and will be with them for some time. If this is the case, deciding to consolidate your student loans might be a wise option.

Choosing the right college loan(s) will help students finance their education and avoid a bad experience when repayment becomes due. Failure to understand the rules and the options, on the other hand, can lead to unpleasant surprises and serious financial difficulties.
Two kinds of loans are available to studentssubsidized and unsubsidized.
Subsidized student loans are limited to students who demonstrate financial need: students whose incomes are not sufficient to meet college costs. There is a fixed limit on the subsidized loan money students may borrow, but the government pays the interest on such loans while students are enrolled in college and during the first six months thereafter.
Unsubsidized loans are available to all students, regardless of financial need, and are available in far larger amounts. But, students, not the federal government, assume responsibility for the interest payments.
In most cases, students who qualify for unsubsidized loans need the maximum they are allowed to borrow. If they require funds beyond the subsidized loan maximum, they may turn to unsubsidized loans for additional assistance.
Students can apply for the Perkins Loan or the Stafford Loan. Payment on each begins after a student has graduated or has been away from college for six months. This six month “grace period” may be extended at the discretion of the individual lenders.
There is also the PLUS loan, which can be taken out by parents. The PLUS loan offers a relatively low interest rate, but requires repayment to begin sixty days after the loan is awarded.
Please be aware that student loans must be repaid, without exception. Even bankruptcy does not free borrowers of the obligation of full repayment. Generally, lenders will work with anyone making a good faith effort to repay their loans, but those who avoid contact with lenders or simply refuse to make payment may be subject to harsh penalties which including wage garnishment and the withholding of income tax refunds.
Because a college degree will increase your lifetime income by an average of nearly $1 million, it’s a great investment. But, you certainly want to shop for the best terms you can get and avoid the temptation to borrow more than is necessary.

NCO Financial was established in the early 1920’s and has been operating since. There headquarters are located in Pennsylvania.
They will collect upon heath care, financial service and education related accounts amongst others. They have 140 operation facilities and are spread out across 9 countries.
If NCO Financial has created a listing on your credit report it will have hurt your credit score. You should take action to have this listing removed as this will help improve your credit score.
To remove this listing I suggest you dispute it with the credit bureaus. To do this a dispute letter must be sent to the credit bureaus.
In your dispute letter you have to explain why the listing is wrong. Reasons can include; item is out of date, information is wrong, not my account and more.
Once your dispute letter is received and the credit bureaus deem it valid, they will conduct an investigation. In the investigation they will contact NCO Financial and request that they verify the amount of the debt, dates of the debt and any other pertinent information.
Often notations are removed once an investigation begins. This is because nco financial and other business are un willing to spend the time and money verifying an uncollectible debt. Thus the credit bureau will then remove the notation from your report.
The hard part is getting the credit bureaus to follow through and do an investigation. This happens because the credit bureaus must spend potential profits to have people conduct the investigations. Thus they are resistant to the dispute process.
Frequently the credit bureaus will respond to a dispute letter by asking for more information about the disputed listing. They do this in an attempt to frustrate you and have you give up on the dispute process.
The Fair Credit Reporting Act passed by congress in the early 1970’s is a piece of legislation to help you the consumer. This law says that bureaus must investigate disputes and if the investigation shows that the listing is inaccurate or unverifiable then if must be removed from your credit report.
If this debt is legit and you do owe the money then you can settle the debt. If you choose to settle then you should send a settlement letter offering an amount to settle the debt with NCO.
In this settlement letter I suggest you get NCO to agree in writing that they will remove the negative mark on your credit report in exchange for your payment. It is common for people to not get this agreement in writing and then they are forced to later dispute this mark in order to remove it.
I recommend settling this debt for less than the total amount. The reason for this is NCO has purchased your account for only pennies on the dollar. Also between interest and fees your bill has probably added up to more than the original debt. Thus I recommend starting your offer at 50% of the total debt. Also you should know that an inaccurate amount is grounds to dispute the listing.
In sum, I recommend first disputing the listing before you make any efforts to settle the debt. If you only have one negative mark on your credit file then conduct the disputes yourself, however if you have multiple marks then I suggest a professional credit repair service.

Set Up a big mirror beside your telephone set and see if you are smiling for your guests who call you on the phone. Be sure that you are NOT sending out the wrong message.
Would you greet someone at the front door or in your front office the same as you do on the phone? In the elevator or down the steps is another time for courtesy. Should I observe AUTO [car] driving/riding road rage? Another story!
