Are you planning a vacation to the Western US any time soon? Perhaps you want to save money by not traveling too far from home. The majority of Americans stay in this country for their vacations, and those living in the West do so as well. In that part of the country, there are many lesser known places you can visit that are just fantastic. Maybe youall decide one is right for you.

Great travel destination one: Tourists just love the state of Washington. The state offers both urban and natural wonders, vacation spots for every type of person. A visit to Rattlesnake Mountain or Cape Alava could be perfect for those who like to hike and bike across beautiful trails, but cruises and tours are also available. For those who prefer an urban setting, a few days in Seattle will give you the best of what Washington has to offer.

Great travel destination two: Learn how much more Nevada has to offer than just gambling. You can enjoy world-class skiing, golfing, and snowmobiling in the Lake Tahoe area. In the southern part of the state, you can take a drive along Highway 50, the same route the Pony Express used to take. And up north, you can even relive the old days of being a cowboy with a visit to one of the many ranches there.

Vacation hint number three: There’s more to Arizona than just deserts. Although you may not know it, Arizona is a great place for boating and water sports. They have many lakes, and some of them are a vacationers paradise. Be sure to check out Lake Pleasant, which is just a few miles north of Phoenix. You can let your cares drift away as you enjoy the sailing, skiing, and fishing there, along with the fifty miles of beautiful shores that the lake has to offer.

Tip number four: Culture in Salt Lake City. Who would have thought it? The Utah capital has a ballet company, Ballet West, an opera company, a symphony orchestra and several excellent theaters. Outside of these classical art and culture attraction, Salt Lake City offers interesting local color. The Mormon capital is genuinely different, a unique character among US cities. It is very American, but at the same time feels foreign to visitors from other areas.

Tip number five: Yosemite. Sure, we all know it is there, but have you actually been? This part of California is very different from the rest of the sunny, crowded state. Giant redwoods and mountain views offer a soul-soothing experience. If you come from the south, driving the Pacific Coast Highway is an experience that shouldn’t be missed. Discover Monterey with its Cannery Row, the two centuries old Carmel Mission, and perhaps see the Lone Cyprus overlooking the sea.

Tip number six: A long weekend in Portland, Oregon. The Portland Metropolitan area is a big city not quite like other big cities. With its vibrant arts community, multitude of parks and green spaces, excellent public transportation and generally liveable atmosphere, Portland is pleasant and friendly as well as urban and exciting.

It doesn’t matter what type of vacation you’re looking for, the Western United States has what you need. These ideas will get you started, but don’t limit yourself. Go exploring and find your own special paradise. Be safe, and have a great vacation!

There’s a definite courage demanded to hear your gut. To really be true to how you are feeling. And that is never more essential than in your career. Sometimes people feel that they are not entirely happy. At other times they might have a sense of distance from the job or organisation they are in.This
lack of ‘alignment’ makes for discomfort - and many people listen to it for the whole of their careers (and lives) and yet never truly hear it.So what are the cues that can help us realise that if change is in the air, it is a good thing, rather than something to fear? Here are 19 things to look out for:-

1.You experience tired
2.You really yawn a plenty
3.You get sick easily
4.You feel yourself air castle (maybe even looking out the window)
5.You get thrilled when something out of the general occurs
6.All year finds insistent
7.You get in late
8.You get pale a lot
9.Cynicism about your orgaisation goes to increment
10.You team up with your own people against the organization
11.You have a common sense of being ‘locked in’
12.You see others progress and wonder why
13.Sunday evenings are filled with scary
14.Some jobs are really hard to bring yourself to
15.Cycles repeat themselves (about 5-yearly)
16.’Grumpy’ is a description you get about yourself
17.You miss faith in ‘head office’ (often)
18.’Things ain’t what they used to be’
19.You feel yourself muttering to yourself a lot
Hence what to do about it.

1-recognising that your career is in a rut is a extended stride - therefore look at yourself good that you spotted it and took stock.

2- seen that you do have choices. You always have choices - and only you can make them - no-one else.

3 - think through what options you have in your existent job or role - all may not be perplexed, you might have options which suit who you really want to be, in exactly the organisation you are in - just take thinking and above all, get creative about it.

4- consider what you love doing in your life; read the job segments and seek out jobs that truly appeal, however unlikely they might seem for you. Ask yourself what captures your imagination about them - tease it out (use the ‘Why’s’ tactic
in “Solve Troubles Permanently - Call For WHY”)

5- look at how you can leverage your existing role to enable you to attain a longer-term destination of a class of job you like - what is already there that you can utilize.

6-create an escape plan, with timescales to get to where you really do want to be - it may have a pair of stairs - but that’s just great. It contributes to the fun!For a bit more help about exchanges of direction, try out.
