This article is my attempt to explain why overturning Roe vs Wade(which both John McCain & Sarah Palin have stated that they will seek to do if elected), would be a catastrophe of epic proportions. Since the early 1990s the crime rate, rates for spousal abuse, teen pregnancies, and abortions have been going down. I will show in this article why those rates will begin to dramatically again start to rise in coming years, if Roe vs Wade is overturned, and state laws outlawing abortions already on the books, and others that will undoubtedly be passed in ‘red states’ are subsequently enacted.

After the Supreme Court made abortions legal nationwide, via the 1973 Roe vs Wade ruling, many women who previously would not have been able to get abortions, were suddenly able to terminate their pregnancies. I believe one of the primary reasons why these women wanted to terminate their pregnancies was because they had accidentally gotten pregnant after they had been drinking alcohol. In 1973, Doctors Kenneth Jones and David Smith told the world about the condition known as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome(FAS). Many women who had unknowingly become pregnant, and kept drinking alcohol until they discovered they were pregnant, felt compelled to terminate their pregnancies rather than give birth to FAS afflicted babies.

The following is a quote that explains why FAS/FAE is a problem with such devastating consequences. “‘The girls get knocked up and the boys get locked up.’” They are followers, easily misled, with little or no appreciation of consequences. Without intervention, many ride the justice system merry-go-round or become ‘homeless street people’. There are some critically important differences between those children afflicted with FAS and those afflicted with FAE. Because FAS children are severely retarded, and have very distinct facial characteristics, they are very easily diagnosed. Although they are much more tragically afflicted, and will need extensive support throughout their lives, at least they do get diagnosed. FAE children often go undiagnosed because their I.Q. levels and facial characteristics are usually no different than the average child. Since FAE children usually go undiagnosed, they have great difficulty living productive and happy lives because they are forced to live in a society with a myriad of issues and obstacles that require certain behavioral and learning capabilities which they do not have.

Because many of those children afflicted with FAE are never properly diagnosed, they tend to have learning and behavioral problems throughout their lives, and many end up going to prison. There are five symptoms of FAE afflicted children that I consider to be highly indicative for predisposing a person to become involved in crime: poor judgment, vulnerable to manipulation and victimization, the inability to express empathy for others without being prompted to do so, a tendency to be easily influenced by others and susceptiblity to drug and alcohol abuse.

I believe that a ‘cycle of poverty’(COP) developed here in the U.S. because so many women who were pregnant did not know the dangers of drinking alcohol while being pregnant, so they had FAS/FAE babies, which grew up and had more FAE afflicted babies and so on and on. As quoted from FASLink.org earlier, their behavioral problems led to a never endiing COP where “the girls get knocked up and the boys to get locked up.” Since Roe vs Wade, we have been climbing out of this ‘cycle of poverty’, but if McCain and Palin are successful at getting Roe vs Wade overturned, we will dive right back into that tragic, ever-churning ‘Cycle of Poverty’, with TRULY DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES FOR MILLIONS!!!

Packing up a computer can be a time consuming and stressful affair! But it doesn’t have to be. Using these tips should make packing it up a little easier.

By far the easiest thing to do is to repack the computer into the manufacturer’s boxes. They were built for your computer and will protect it well.

Don’t have the original boxes? Then here are some suggestions that will make your life easier.

When packing your computer, use foam pads, bubble wrap and clear plastic bags. Don’t use foam chips (often called peanuts) they produce static electricity and may harm the computer.

Back up all data before disconnecting the computer.

Turn your computer off and disconnect it from all power sources. Before removing cords and cables it will be helpful to label each one with the port that it plugs into. Color-coded stickers and connection diagrams make reassembling your computer quick and easy. You could even take a photo of the back while it’s still connected.

Computer Equipment Packing 101

Cables - To avoid nasty tangles, wrap cables with twist ties, tape, or elastic bands.

Hard Drive - The hard drive is usually left in the computer. However, if you need to remove it, it should be packed snugly in the center of a large box with foam pads and styrofoam holding it in place in a static free bag. Static can damage the drive and erase data.

Monitor - Wrap the monitor in a plastic bag to protect the screen. Then place it in a large box. Use bubble wrap, foam pads and styrofoam to immobilize the screen.

Keyboard - First, wrap the keyboard in a piece of foam first and then add a layer of bubble wrap. Put it in a separate box.

Sound Cards and Memory Chips - Normally, you wouldn’t want to remove these. But should there be any need to remove and pack any internal parts such as sound cards, or memory chips, they must be wrapped separately in Anti-Static bags. Regular plastic and paper products can damage these components. After the item is in its protective anti-static bag, it can then be cushioned with bubble wrap and foam pads.

Mouse - If you have a wireless mouse, remove the battery/batteries (if there are any) before storing it in a plastic bag. If you have an old mouse that still uses a cable, loosely loop the it and secure with a twist tie before bagging it.

External CD Rom Drives and Modems - Similar to the keyboard, these items should be boxed individually and wrapped in bubble wrap and foam pads for protection.

Printer - First - remove all trays, arms and paper. Wrap them in plastic bags before boxing them. Then, place the printer in a plastic bag in the center of its own box. Use foam and styrofoam to protect the fragile parts.

CDs and DVDs - These products are very tough. Using the usual jewel case is usually enough protection. CK.

Finally, carefully box the items so they won’t bump into each other during the move. Consider adding warnings such as FRAGILE, THIS SIDE UP and/or DO NOT STACK.

Be careful! If you follow these tips, you may be seen as a ‘computer set up expert’ and be invited to set up all your friend’s computers, too.

A charge off can be removed by disputing the mark. This must be done directly with the credit bureaus.

A dispute is your way of saying this mark is not accurate or not valid. There are two ways to file a dispute.

1. Create a dispute letter

In sum, a charge off on your credit report will negatively impact your score. However you do not have to live with it for 7 years. You can dispute it and have it removed.
