Affordable Web Hosting Alternatives

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Free web hosting - As the name suggests, this service does not cost anything. With a free service website owners get a very limited amount of space on a web server and can use it to host their own web pages. Usually the space is limited to one or two pages, and does not include other services such as databases, email or ftp. The pages sometimes are advertising-supported.

Flexible affordable web hosting - Only purchase services you require, with the flexibility to expand as you require.

Shared web hosting service - With shared hosting many sites are located on the same server, often with the same ip address. They each have their own “virtual address”. The total number on a given server will depend on the policies and resources of the web hosting company. Typically all domains share the same pool of server resources, such as RAM, CPU and hard drive storage space.

Reseller web hosting - This method lets clients of web hosting companies become web hosting companies themselves. With a reseller plan a client purchases a set amount of space and data transfer volume, often associated with a specific ip address, and then can set up many domains in this space. This space can simply be used for the reseller’s own domains, or resold to other clients. Reseller accounts come with an interface that lets them set up packages, set pricing, and collect payments automatically. Reseller accounts range in capacity and features from very inexpensive shared space to full blown dedicated or colocated servers.

There are more expensive web hosting plans available for more intensive operations which include Virtual Dedicated Servers (VDS or VPS for “Virtual Private Servers), Dedicated servers and Colocation Hosting.

Running a Successful Online Store - by Josh Stone

Millions of websites exist for the sole purpose of selling things online. First, if you are running an online store either you need to know some good programming skills, or you need to hire someone who is your web designer and programmer. HDR Images Make Okinawa Brighter

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

Significant improvements in imaging technology have taken place over the last few years and HDR images are soon to become the new standard for advertising, publishing and general photo display.

Modern stock image sites feature 8-bit Jpegs, and in a few cases 8-bit TIFF files. With display tecnhnologies like those available through Brightside Tech bringing exciting improvements in image viewing, the demand for higher dynamic range images will grow.

John Burgreen, is an award winning art director of Okinawa Living and photographer who has a very successful design portfolio in Okinawa, Japan. He now is making available the next generation of images online. According to Burgeen, “This is what truly separates the quality of good image libraries from the overcrowded microstock portals - a concern for offering the absolute highest quality images.”

Images that meet those standards are available for limited licensing at John’s website, hdrjapan.com. Though only a small but unique selection is available, the library of high-quality images is expanding every week and is currently the largest of its kind, with its current selection of Japan-specific High Dynamic Range Images.

HDR Japan and its contributing photographers are all professional Photographers and Art Directors based in Okinawa. The plan is to grow their collection of premium HDR images over the coming months. These images are among the best HDR pictures of Japan you can find online.

Driver Training to Promote Safety

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

Kørekort til bil og motorcykel - Har du lyst til at vide mere om vejen til kørekortet, så er du velkommen til at kigge ind i en af Trafikskolernes afdelinger.

When it comes to driver training standards, there is no room for compromise. In fact, if you want to be a truck driver, the trucking company that hires you will often sponsor your truck driver training and cover your startup training tuition costs.

Some driver training courses also cover school bus driver taining, passenger bus driver training, tractor trailer driver training, and dump truck driver training. The best schools have instructors who are fully qualified and trained to the highest possible standards.

Normally driving students gradually increase in skill, experience, and driving maturity while progressing from one level of driver training to the next. Evaluation of the students takes place at each step of a typical course. An objective assessment of a student’s progress is obtained with local driving, written tests and behind the wheel instruction and testing.

Remote Storage Often a Security Risk

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

At dispersed offices, data storage tasks may end up the job of an IT-challenged business administrator. With other high-priority storage issues at hand, companies invested in the data center while remote offices were nearly ignored. Many remote offices have low-end Ethernet switches and minimal security protection as well. So they represent a very weak link in the bigger chain.

Large companies often have dozens of domestic remote offices, and perhaps some overseas. Their data storage requirements are very complex especially when you factor in the security issues that remote offices present. If you work at a large, geographically dispersed company, with offices in various locations, it is inevitable that the IT department will be asked to implement a solution that addresses the storage needs of remote offices.

The Nuts and Bolts of Popup Displays

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Popup Displays are undoubtedly the most common form of low priced trade show and event display. A popup uses a simple design - normally only two main components, with two or three other popup display accessories.

The most important part of a popup display is the folding frame which is normally made of either carbon fibre or alumimum tubes. The frame serves as a skeleton that you cover with display panels. The panels are either velcro-ready fabric panels, or graphic panels made of a material like Duralex - lexan panels that have already been printed, normally using an high resolution large format printing process.

Before the frame is made to “popup” it comes folded down to a unit approximately 8″ square by 30″ wide. When it is unfolded, the frame “pops up” to a skeleton approximately 8′ (or 10′) wide with a standard height of about 8′ high. This frame normally weighs about 15 lbs. and is stable enough to sit on the floor without any anchoring or external support. For exact specifications and measurements, see these popup design specification pages.

Dust Collectors Clean Industrial Air

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

A very important objective for all industrial plant is to increase productivity and simultaneously save energy. In the process indoor air quality must be controlled or made even cleaner and safer. Dust collectors are an important piece in this large puzzle.

Industrial grade dust collection systems are available in a variety of configurations, sizes and capacities. These systems are key to all of these issues - increased efficiency, energy saving, and improved air quality. Air filtration systems and dust collection units are available for both large and small industrial operations.

Here are just some of the configurations available:

- Smaller cartridge systems with compact housings for many dust collection applications where a smaller footprint is desirable.
- Baghouse style dust collector systems that use fabric media for filtration
- Cylindrical baghouse filter units that usually are used for wood dust
- Cyclones that filter out courser, heavier material with a centrifugal system
