If you think about it a list of medical careers in health and medical are very similar as they both want the same thing that is to care for the welfare of the patient. To give some idea, here are a few possible careers that you may get into.

1. Brushing your teeth is not enough to keep them clean. That’s why people are told to visit the DENTIST at least once a year, or every six months. This profession is usually completed after 8 years of education. It takes just as long as a medical doctor and analysts believe this demand will grow as a large number are expected to retire soon.

The job of the dentist is to diagnose, prevent and treat problems in the teeth and also the mouth tissue. They may perform x-rays, put in protective plastic sealants, extract or repair fractured teeth. If patients need to straighten their teeth, then they have to visit an orthodontist.

Dentists use a variety of equipment to get the job done. These include mouth mirrors, probes, forceps, brushes, scalpels, drills and x-ray machines. To protect themselves and their patients, they must always sterilize their equipment; wear masks, gloves that must be disposed afterwards and protective glasses.

2. For those that want to get into the heat of the action, they may work as surgeons. This is very hard as most doctors work more than 60 hours weekly inside the operating room. Aside from general surgery, there are a lot of Doctors who specialize in a specific area.

Examples of a certain list of medical careers may include orthodontic surgery that is the treatment of the skeletal system. Then there is neurological that is involved with the the brain. Orthopedic that involves the eyes and Otolaryngology that is treatment of the ear, nose and throat as well as plastic or reconstructive surgery for those are recovering from burn injuries, or want to change their physical appearance.

3. Some people want to become a respiratory therapist. This person is expected to evaluate, treat and care for the patients that have difficulty breathing or may be suffering from cardiopulmonary disorders. They work under the direct supervision of the physician. To evaluate a patient, and an interview is first done before a physical examination. Tests are then done to analyze the oxygen, carbon dioxide and pH levels and then comparing them with the age, height, sex and height of the patient if they are below or above normal. The results are then used to make the proper treatment decisions.

They not only treat seniors, but also premature babies that have not yet produced fully developed lungs. They may also be called in to help patients that are suffering from asthma, drowning, heart attack, shock and a stroke.

4. One job that is not often seen with health and medical careers, but does play a role is that of a social worker. They help people who have serious illnesses, disabilities and substance abuse. They also assist families who have inadequate housing and those who are in serious domestic conflicts, especially those with child or spousal abuse. If you want to help people, go for a health and medical career, but first make a list of medical careers to choose from.

The field of Conservation affects a wide supply of food needs, crop management and soil. Teacher jobs abroad are more on demand than ever. However, this kind of teaching is not for every person out there. Depending on the program that you will teach with, there will be some challenges that you will face.

Right before I got my secondary teaching job I was able to get some great experience by teaching English in Russia. Different programs have different requirements, but the one I was involved with was very easy as I didn’t have to have a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) or English as a Second Language (ESL) certificate. This is because it was through a volunteer program.

If you are looking for a more stable or permanent position, you will want to get certified. The demand is huge all around the world for teachers who are ESL certified. You will be able to get a job very quickly pretty much anywhere you want to go.

Depending on where you want to end up, the most common qualifications needed are a bachelors degree and TEFL/ESL certification. Once you have these taken care of, you can pretty much write your own ticket.

Before you get on that plane, make sure you have a few more things covered first. Make sure you study up on the language and can speak it at least well enough for basic communication and getting around. Also learn about the culture of the area you are moving to.

Realize that you will be eating most likely very different food and become familiar with different customs. In some cases you may experience some culture shock, which incorporates your body getting used to a different way of eating, climate, altitude, etc. You may get sick for a little while, including diarrhea or constipation.

You may want to ease the culture shock with bringing some items from home that help you feel more comfortable.

Teaching jobs abroad can also lend to great travel opportunities. You may want to choose your travel destinations based on the sites that you want to see.

If you don’t have certification yet, you may want to test the waters and try out a volunteer program overseas, like the Peace Corps. Some colleges and universities also offer great oversea teaching experiences.

Seeing the vending machines we have all around us today, we can sometimes forget what they were like in the past. As with most things in our society, the have evolved over time. New ideas emerge from the old and the advances in technology certainly help as well. The first ones came about in London in the 1880’s. They first held only post cards and then books as well.

It was in 1888 that vending machines were introduced in the United States. They distributed gum in various subway stations of New York and Chicago. There were many different styles of vending machines that emerged in the early 1900’s. One of them that consumers immediately took to was the round gumball machine that we still see out there today.

From 1902 until 1962 a Philadelphia location called Horn & Hardart had a restaurant with a unique feature - all of the food and drink items came out of vending machines. This was a very original idea and attracted people who were traveling through the area. They all wanted to get a glimpse of what it entailed.

The really big popularity of vending machines in the United States though didn’t take place until both Coke and Pepsi got involved. The two rivals are to this day still looking for ways to do better than the other one. They both mass produced vending machines so they could distribute more soda to their consumers. It was in the 1940’s when they were offered and making huge sales.

If you haven’t seen one of the old fashioned vending machines with those glass bottles they are really neat. The bottles were in the machine sideways and would be dispensed by entering coins and moving a mechanical arm. There was a bottle opener on the door so as soon as you got your drink you could open it and enjoy it.

The designs on vending machines have really changed since then. They vary in size and design. Most of the time the design is a marketing ploy to encourage you to buy something from it. They are also designed better inside too which means they can operate more efficiently. This cuts down on money lost due to not working and on angry customers who got ripped off.

There are vending machines that offer food, supplies for any specialty location such as the swimming pool or when you are going fishing, pictures, books, newspapers, and much more. You can find just about anything you wish to buy in them these days and that is good news. It means you can easily access what you want without having to wait in a line or experiencing the store being closed.

You may be so used to the various vending machines around that you don’t really see what is inside of them. Pay more attention though as you walk around and you may be surprised. Look at what is offered with it both inside and outside. You will be impressed with them many different options that you come across. Don’t underestimate those older models though - some are worth a great deal of money to collectors.

Filipino Maids HK - Why Filipino Maids Prefer Western Employers

Most Filipino maids in Hong Kong would prefer Western employers over Chinese employers. Whenever they inquire from our employment agency for job opportunities, they are more likely to ask, “Do you have Western employers available?”

Our employment agency caters to an international market. We receive inquiries from expatriates who need domestic helpers from time to time which results from our internet marketing endeavor.

Based on my interviews with some of those Filipino maids, they prefer Western employers compared with Chinese employers in Hong Kong because they tend to be more understanding and generous with compensation.

There are four major areas where Western employers show an edge over the Chinese employers in terms of their treatment of Filipina domestic helpers. They are atmosphere of work environment, consideration, socio-psychological distance and personal space. This study has been conducted by Chinese University of Hong Kong on how maids in Hong Kong are treated by their employers.

The data were based on in-depth and structured interviews of Filipino helpers who have served both types of employers. A few Western and Chinese employers were also interviewed.

The study shows that Western employers tend to provide their Filipino maids with easier and more comfortable work environment compared with the Chinese employers. They are more considerate, and are more likely to treat their maids equally and to allow them more personal space, thus, giving their helpers more satisfaction in working for them.

Western employers are more homogeneous in terms of variations in treatment of filipino domestic helpers and also tend to concentrate on the positive side while Chinese employers are more diversified. As a summary, filipino domestic helpers are more likely to know what Western employers are expecting of them and how they would be treated versus the Chinese employers where treatment usually vary from one employer to the other.

This will not only give you great feeling of satisfaction in your work habitat but it will also allow you to step out of your comfort zone.

Choosing a career path that you truly enjoy is the best approach. However, there are some other things to consider as well. While you may love working in the field of art, there just may not be enough jobs in this field to go around in your local area. Try to find a middle ground or try to find job opportunities for teens that appeal to a different interest.

Some college student get excited with the idea of summer jobs. Such jobs can lead to good job placement offers. If you are fortunate, you may well be ahead of in the game of rat race.

Once you have a plan of action in mind, start gathering the necessary paperwork designated by your local government. There are some labor laws that need to be addressed when applying for jobs as a teenager. Make sure that you have all of your working papers in order before applying for positions.

While many companies will work with you in getting all of your documents in place, most employers will be impressed with your foresight and tenacity if you have everything done ahead of time. This will also save a lot of time. You can get right to real work rather than waiting for paperwork to go through.

It is easy to find jobs for teens. But, if you really put in your nest effort in this, you may end up with a good job career.

If you are going to take the time and spend the money to earn a higher education it makes sense to do so from a nationally accredited distance learning school. You see schools that are nationally accredited will most likely have better students and facualty.

An accredited school has some advantages non accredited schools will not. They will try their best to give an excellent education to their reputation stays good in the corporate world. This will help them so employers will contintue to accept job applicants with degrees from those schools.

Another factor that bodes well for accredited schools is that when sponsors find out that a certain school is offering an accredited program it may attract them into lending their support.

When you are looking at accredited distance learning programs make sure to find out which services it provides and the courses they offer. You may also want to dig more the faculty employed at the school and the level of administrative competence.

After you have completed your program you can continue your education further if you so desire. Therefore you may want to measure the school according to how well it promotes continuous student education to see if you would like to earn another degree form the same institution.

If you are going to spend money and time earning a degree or completing a training program from a distance learning program you will want to be rewarded for those efforts. That is one reason why attending one of many nationally accredited distance learning schools is to your advanctage.

Basically speaking you need to focus on the good schools and stay away from diploma mills. Therefore you should contact several universities to learn all about them and if possible contact former students as well.

The need for heating, venting, and air conditioning professionals, commonly known as HVAC, has never faltered. Well-trained HVAC professionals and graduates are skilled with the basic knowledge of system components, tools, brazing and soldering, and more. This includes the installation and troubleshooting of valves, compressors, water chillers, thermostats, heat pumps, connection switches and controls. Effective HVAC technicians are also trained to adjust refrigerant levels as well as work safely with gas, oil, and electric heat.

Among the many trades, the fastest growing branch is HVAC. It is expected to rise by 31.8% through 2012. This includes job opportunities that include working for and as building contractors, residential maintenance and service companies, plumbing supply and hardware shops, and, of course, self-employment.

Because of the complexity of heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems, employers opt to hire those who have completed technical school training or a formal apprenticeship. Some mechanics and installers, however, still learn the trade informally on the job. A number of high schools, colleges and junior colleges, and even Armed Forces branches offer programs that educate prospective HVAC students. This training includes the study of temperature control, equipment construction, and electronics, as well as the basics of installation, maintenance, and repair.

There are three accrediting agencies that set HVAC academic standards: HVAC Excellence, National Center for Construction Education and Research, and Partnership for Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Accreditation. Upon completion of the academic portion of the training, students typically spend another two and a half years in the field.

Apprenticeships are still very popular and practical means to gain valuable HVAC certification and training. Apprenticeship programs are often managed by local chapters of the ACCA (Air-Conditioning Contractors of America), the MCAA (Mechanical Contractors Association of America), and the PHCC (Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors). Formal apprenticeships typically span three to five years and involve on-the-job training along with classroom instruction. The subjects of study include the use and care of tools and blueprints, and the theories at work with regards to heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration.

Students and future apprenticeships must have a high school diploma or GED. And it should be noted that aptitudes in math and reading comprehension are necessary for successful HVAC careers. Once an apprenticeship is properly completed, the apprentice graduates to “skilled tradesman” status and is legally allowed to work alone to start his or her own company. It should be noted that some apprenticeships can qualify a student for some college credits.
