Botox fights the signs of aging

When the muscles of the face contract in normal day to day living the resulting wrinkles and lines are accentuated by dry, sagging skin.
These muscle contractions are normally activated when the muscles produce a chemical called acetylcholine. Botox is injected into specific facial muscles to block the production of acetylcholine and thereby reduce muscle contraction and the wrinkles that result. In the Chicago Land area the Women’s Institute of Cosmetic & Laser Surgery provides botox treatments and other types of cosmetic and laser surgery.
Chicago botox treatments may be performed in an office-based facility, an outpatient surgery center, or a hospital. The specially trained physician or registered nurse administering the injections uses a fine needle to inject very small amounts of botox into the relevant muscles. No anesthesia will be required, and the patient will be able to return to regular daily activities immediately.
