Definitions of some English words can change quite rapidly these days. In the recent past the meaning of words was often very fixed. Today the meaning can change in the blink of an eye. With faster and newer ways to exchange ideas such as Twitter and with wider and more culturally, socially and educationally dissimilar groups connecting together – words are put back on the anvil of evolution and changed into something new and more reflective of current life.
There’s a significant global movement happening where consumers are asking business to take care of the things they care about such as the less fortunate in society and the environment. The request is mainly tacit and despite it being an ironic request it by far indicates still that we are in a time of vast change. Consumers these days want their cake and eat it. They not only want cheap products, they also want the environment to be preserved and they want workers to be well looked after.
There may not seem an answer to this complex puzzle and yet one actually exists. It exists in the reforging of a simple single word – GET. Today there is a new movement of people wanting to get but give at the same time and they are reforging its meaning into the word GIVE.
Every day automated email notices arrive from Google Alerts for two keywords – B1G1 and BOGO. I see all the new places these words are being used on the Internet. I can now see that the new meaning of these words is coming alive ‘poco a poco’ -little by little.
The B1G1 and BOGO acronyms both stand for Buy One GET One free. You buy one and you get given an extra one for free.
Look up BOGO on Wikipedia.com (there isn’t a definition yet for B1G1) and you will discover these definitions for BOGO:
* An acronym in the retail industry that stands for Buy One Get One. For example, you could say “Buy 1 DVD, Get 1 FREE!
* An acronym in slang British that stands for Britons Of Greek Origin or Greek Britons.
* Bogo, Cebu, a city in central Philippines.
* An alternate name for the Bilen ethnic group of Ethiopia or their language, Blin.
* Norway, a village in Norway.
* The mascot of the ITESM CEM.
* Bogosort, an ineffective sorting algorithm
* BogoMips, an unscientific measurement of CPU speed
BOGO light
There is an organisation in the USA called SunLight Solar founded by a gentleman called Mark Bent. He has created a special torch that not only is an amazing and robust solar-powered light; his company also gives a free torch to a family in need in developing nations for each one purchased. If you look on their website you will learn about their “BOGOlight”.
“The BoGo – our Buy one/Give one – program has successfully provided lights to many, many thousands of people in the developing world, changing lives because of your purchase and participation.” – BOGOlight.com
Mark Bent has flipped the BOGO acronym upside down when he started to use the word as part of his product name. For him now and the thousands who buy his lights, BOGO today means Buy One GIVE One. Each person gets to give a light every time they buy one for themselves. So now with each sale people who do not have the benefit of electricity can tap the power of the sun to support them in their lives.
There are many other well known and less well know businesses now doing Buy One Give One giving or transactional giving as it is becoming known. Some of the famous ones are One-Laptop-Per-Child (OLPC) and TOM’S Shoes. Some of the less well-known ones (in the USA at least) are based in New Zealand, Australia and the UK – Earthstar Publishing, Maple Muesli, Blinds Couture, Figure 8 Body Chains, Sunsplash Homes, Honestly Women magazine and Thavibu Gallery based in Thailand are just a handful of special businesses that are heading the Buy One Give One movement.
There are many Buy One Give One businesses now uniting under the common brand banner of Buy1GIVE1 managed by a Singapore based social enterprise which is becoming the home of transaction-based giving. Any business in the world can now integrate Buy One Give One giving with ease. It’s like a ‘CSR plug-in’ allowing a business to instantaneously start giving from each and every sale, starting from just 1 cent. It’s also no longer about giving an equivalent product to someone else. Instead it is about contributing to a project that resonates with a company’s activity. For example a restaurant can feed a child, a television retailer can give a cataract blind person the gift of sight (Get Vision-Give Vision), a magazine publisher can plant a tree every time they sell a subscription and a property developer can build a low-cost family home for those in need (Buy1BUILD1) – the list is simply endless.
Something special is happening these days as more and more people are switching onto giving and ‘citizen brands’ as a part of their everyday experience. The 2008 Edelman Goodpurpose global study of consumer attitudes reveal that almost seven in 10 (68%) consumers would choose to remain loyal to a brand during a recession if it supports a good cause, and 71% say that when they think about the economic downturn, they have either given the same or more time and money to good causes. This very same study highlighted some other major things as well like:
* Half (52%) of consumers globally are more likely to recommend a brand to others when it supports a good charity cause over one that does not.
* 52% of consumers globally are more likely to tell others of a brand when it supports a good charity cause over one that doesn’t.
* Consumers are now voicing a clear desire for marketers to associate their brands to social causes. 42% say that if two products or services were of a similar quality and price, commitment to a cause outranks factors like innovation, design and brand loyalty when selecting one brand over another.
Transforming Getting into Giving
The new concept of Buy One GIVE One is starting to replace Buy One GET One as the global giving movement led by Buy1GIVE1 ripples out. Right now if you search for the terms B1G1 and BOGO you will find that websites that do Buy1-Give1 giving are on the first page of Google results. Certainly with the large consumer demand shown for products from companies like TOMS Shoes, BOGO lights and OLPC – One Laptop Per Child, this tide is set to continue and spread.
I did a recent Google search to find the top 25 keywords associated with the keywords BOGO and B1G1. The results were interesting indeed seeing none of them contained the word Give. You can see the results below. It will be interested to repeat this experiment in 12 months time to see what changes. Consumers are now starting to drive significant change and despite them wanting to receive free gifts (as in traditional BOGO/B1G1), they equally want to help others and the environment. This feeling is validated by 2008’s Goodpurpose global study.
Keyword results:
Free, networking, boots, groups, music, dallas, togo themes, wallpapers, buy, applications, skins, values, coupon, African, gift, photography, blogging, discount, sharing, shopping, pics, join, prose
Transaction-based or transactional giving
Buy One Give One giving is transactional – every time you buy something, you give something. In the case of SunNight Solar, TOMS Shoes and OLPC they happen to give physical products of the same nature for everyone sold. However, in most cases, Buy1GIVE1 associated businesses give a charitable contribution from each sale. Giving can start from just a one-cent contribution per sales transaction and go up to thousands of dollars in the case of Buy1BUILD1. At 1cent any business in the world can afford to give from each sale especially when they also know 100% of the contribution goes to the cause.
The amount of money that is contributed isn’t the focus with Buy1GIVE1 transaction based giving. The focus instead is on the story and sharing the simple joy of giving. After all, if you think that 1c isn’t a lot to give and would not make much of a difference think again.
From its origins in Ethiopia, where the main coffee production is still from wild coffee tree forests, coffee consumption has spread throughout the world. Today Brazil is still by far the largest producer producing an average output of 28% of the world’s total coffee. Brazil produced enough coffee in 2006 to make 216 billion four hundred million – 216 400 000 000 – espresso coffees. If we calculate that across global production then we get a daily global consumption of around 2,117,416,830 cups of coffee. The figures are hard to find but let’s guess that 40% of the world’s coffee is sold in coffee shops then we would get that 846,966,732 cups are sold commercially each day globally. This would equate to about’5,485,714 cups in the USA alone seeing they purchase around 21.9% of the world’s coffee beans.
Now imagine that for every cup of coffee sold a child was given clean drinking water from its own well. It costs just 1cent per person per day to do this. Any coffee shop could afford to contribute this amount from the sale of a cup of coffee. Instead of clean water a coffee shop could contribute for the education of coffee farmers’ children, costing from 23cents per child per day. The options and stories are unlimited as well as the potential difference that Buy One Give One transactional giving can make to the lives of many.
Transactional giving is the story of the thousand-mile journey starting with that first single step. Digging a well costs a few thousand dollars so it’s a big barrier for communities in developing nations. However if you break the cost down it only takes the sale of a cup of coffee to give clean water to a single person for a day1. This is the power of transactional giving. It is like the compound interest of giving – a little turns into a lot very quickly.
Of course any company anywhere in the world can apply transaction-based giving to any of their products or services and do it on their own as some are like TESCO in the UK giving school uniforms to kids in Africa from every uniform purchased in the UK. And yet if companies choose to come together under a commonly recognised banner they have a greater effect. The ripple that one company creates adds to that of another and soon the tidal wave of change flows out into the world benefitting all the companies in the movement. This is the power of giving and doing things together.
Everyone wins with Buy-One-Give-One transaction-based giving. The consumer wins – at no extra cost to themselves they’ve made a difference to the lives of others through their purchasing choices. The business also wins in so many tangible and intangible ways. And of course the charity partner wins because they are now able to receive small amounts from numerous sources aggregated and paid in a lump sum on a regular basis allowing them to focus on what they do rather than raising funds.
A new beginning
If you go and check Wikipedia.com today for the word BOGO you should find that a new definition has been added. It’s time for a tide-change – a change from focusing on GETTING to working with GIVING. I added this small addition to Wikipedia’s BOGO definition: “… an acronym in the marketing industry that stands for Buy One GIVE One.”
Imagine a world where every time you buy you are giving a gift forward to someone in greater need than you. This is the magic of transactional giving – seamless and simple.
This is the world I want to be part of.
Just remember – you don’t ‘get’ giving till you get giving.

As the age old adage says, health is wealth. Here we are speaking about soul’s wealth. Nutritious food is good for one’s health because body can absorb its essence – it is ditto with our life. When we espouse life in its entirety, enjoying all the impressions and sensations in it, our soul will be able to take in its ‘quintessence’, coming to terms with the core of our existence, and helping us to live our lives to the highest. Masami Sato shares the mystery of living a complete life in this excerpt from her latest book, ONE.
Why is it that many of us, (actually, most of us) now and then feel some sort of a barren sensation in our lives? It is like being ravenous. When we eat, we are satiated and become slightly indifferent to food. But after some time, we once again feel like having food. Then suddenly we are drawn again to the aroma and picture of food. We can also feel strange pangs of hunger when we are not actually craving for food – just after having eaten something. Some of us have a craving all the time.
Persistent emotional thirst is not the happiest feeling to have. Then how can we live our lives to the brim? How can we be more contented enduringly?
Maybe the answer is straightforward: just live our lives fully. The word ‘full’ holds the meaning of entirety. Then the secret to live a life in entirety is only to live it fully.
Let’s start to look at one example of this ‘wholeness’ with something awfully close to our heart-our stomach.
Whole Food VS Part Food
We have heard the term ‘whole food’. They say that eating whole food is the key to the health and wellness we seek. Then why is whole food so much better than ‘half food’?
A full grain throbs with a life of its own. If you put the full grain in water, drain the next day and keep for a few days, it shoots. It has its own life. When we dine on such food, our body takes in the entire live nutrients. It has all the qualities required to purify, remedy and foster different body cells.
And exactly like the example of a grain, much of customary eating includes consuming whole edible creatures as well. Eating full fresh fish used to be more prevalent than having a half of it and casting the rest away. It was exactly so for meat and every edible plant product.
‘Half food’ sometimes has more sweetness and flavour but not much other nutrition. We like its taste, but we could develop a long-term illness if we only ate ‘half food’ every day of our life.
So, to balance the missing part, we started to take dietary supplements. We have been studying and researching for a long time to find the perfect balance. It gets more and more complicated as we chop the food up, preserve and transport, and even try to balance with other parts coming from different sources, regions and seasons. Some of the nutrients even come from non-food items. They are chemically generated. After analysis and testing, we approve it for human consumption. But no matter how hard we try; we cannot put all the ‘bits’ together to make it come alive.
Semi Life-’Sweetness’ of Life
So, if we looked at our life now, part of what we are doing can be like eating the ‘half food’. Just savouring the sweetness of life but throwing away the real nourishing part. And if we soaked our ‘half life’ in water with other bits and left it in the sunlight, could it shoot and grow into a beautiful whole life?
Whole food is not (as some people perceive it) poor in taste. It is actually tastier when we prepare it properly. But while the demand is low, it is more expensive. It is actually more economical in the long run though, as we have less medical expenses later on. When more people start eating it, it will naturally become cheaper because it is a simpler food with less processing and waste.
Our life is very similar. When we only value the ’sugariness’, and cast out the rest as litter because we don’t perceive its value, we may be throwing out the most important portion. And what we jettison could have the biggest power for the endorsement of our life and our financial health. It also takes more strength and resources to cast it out. Better still, that which is thrown away comes free.
So, what is it that we do not perceive?
Think of a life where we didn’t actually sense we were missing anything there.
The secret is right there. The secret of a whole life.
Full Life-The Complete Life
When it is ‘full’, it does not matter how big the full is. It can spread out all at once. It can still have within it all the components to uphold itself as a complete living thing. Once it develops to a given size, it can continue to live without some portions of it. Like plants can remain alive after birds feed on a little of it or trees survive even after losing their leaves. But if we ignore the equilibrium for a pretty long time, finally it can lead to a deadly disproportion. Then it might become too difficult to revert to normalcy.
We do not have to revert to Stone Age to find entirety. Entirety exists in the current. All we should do is watch intimately; watch intimately enough to actually see.
When we start seeing our life as a whole and stop throwing away what nourishes our life the most, we start feeling more and more fulfilled without looking for ‘things’ to fill holes and dents of our life. Everything finally falls into place. We now understand the mechanism of our world in a very different way.
Yes, it is now time to find out how we can create (and see) this balance, continuously and sustainably.
The real nourishing part of our life is what makes us feel good deep down. It is like the part of food that makes our body become healthy in the long-term. Feelings we experience in our everyday life are the real key to our long-term happiness. And there are feelings that make us feel more complete.
The smiles we see when we give acknowledgements to others. The joy we feel when we give gifts to others. The love we feel when we see our children being happy. The inspirations we receive when we feel our life is full of meaning
Let’s experience these moments of our life fully and enjoy the flavour of our whole life. Then we will see how it is not so necessary to continuously fill our mind (and stomach!) with temporal gratifications-those types of things that make us even hungrier afterwards.
We can actually feel this joy, gratitude and love in order to experience the life as a whole at any moment regardless of the situations. It is not about what we see, what we hear or what we do that complete our life as a whole. It is about what we ‘choose to’ feel about our life.
Yes, our life indeed is already absolute.
When we initiate taking actions based on this knowledge, we can have real control over the balance creation – enduring health, prosperity, enriching connection and delight.

This is commonly known as a white board marker partner to a whiteboard a white, even surface used for temporary markings that is specially designed for non-permanent marker. It starts from a chalk board and then later on it becomes White boards both functions are similar. At early eighties whiteboards become more popular than any other boards. Even its application become more suitable to some institutions, offices, meeting halls, places of education and other similar environments because of its credibility and usefulness.
Health issue is the main reason why chalkboards drop its influence to the market. Consumers start to discover another option that could assume their requirements as well without the health issues attached and whiteboard is the spotted answers to these needs. Dust particles derived in using chalkboards is not only detrimental to the health but also to computer chips. Moreover, a chalk dust can inhale by children during the lecture. With following reasons mentioned that took part in substituting chalkboards with health pleasant whiteboards.
There are lots of types of White boards with different materials used to create a white board:
Melamine: Made from melamine whiteboards are the most commonly used and it is cost-effective.. However this type of whiteboard has negative features like as earl ghosting effect (the markings leaves permanent on board), discoloration, etc., in a very short point in time and thus, sometimes are very low class.
Painted steel or aluminum: These types of whiteboards are made of steel or aluminum surfaces with white paint sprayed on them. This type of board has the advantage of lasting longer than Melamine boards and is also easy to wipe. However, the board becomes stained due to the porous paint surface and is also prone to scratches.
Glass: Glass whiteboards are more advantageous as they can be used with both permanent and non-permanent ink and ghosting does not occur.
Hardcore laminates: Though these whiteboards are prone to scratches, the boards do not retain stain as they do not absorb the inks of the markers – dry erase or permanent.
Porcelain: The boards are made of a ceramic surface on steel. The erasability of the boards varies depending upon the type of porcelain, but all types of porcelain boards are scratch resistant.
The whiteboards have many benefits over chalkboards.
1. A whiteboards marker does not generate dust unlike a chalk for chalkboards that can affect the health of the user. 2. Whiteboard surface is 100% white and clean that provides clearer vision for the presentation. 3. Usage of multiple color markers is optional if you want to create a colorful visual presentation. 4. Whiteboards can be used as an LCD projection because of its non-reflective surfaces. 5. The use of a whiteboard marker is easier to hold and handler unlike a chalkboard. 6. A clearer markings will not be affected by other external factors.
If there is an advantage of a Whiteboards then there is only a set of disadvantages:
1. Choose the right markers to use on whiteboards. It should be dry wipe kind of markers because there are some that is not suitable to use. 2. Boards with low quality can have ghosting effects that can be inconvenient for the upcoming markings on the board. 3. Too much luster of the surface can be a problem to those who have meager visibility. 4. To those who have visual impairment a white background can be reason them trouble in viewing the content. 5. Whiteboards are more expensive than black boards.
Despite whiteboards’ disadvantages, that cannot entirely influence the issues because the advantages can outdo all the non-constructive sides. Whiteboards are flexible to employ to those spaces that needs easy maintenance such as a small kitchens in homes to some huge meeting halls of the companies. They make confident ambiance with clean surrounding as well as offer the utmost comfort and exceptional visual presentation. And besides it does produce generate dust.
Maintaining whiteboards is very easy. Just make sure you use only the standard dry-erase markers on the whiteboard and avoid permanent markers. Erasing the entire board must be done every after use. The board must be cleaned at least 3 times a week especially if it is used almost everyday. After marking, do not erase it immediately while it is still damp as this may cause ghosting effect. You must ensure that the cleaner is glass cleaner and non-abrasive.
For non-magnetic whiteboards it is not necessary to clean prior to use, but magnetic whiteboards must be cleaned with a glass cleaner and rinsed with water before use. Use felt erasers and when the eraser becomes dirty, change it immediately so that it does not stain on the board. Magnetic whiteboards must be rinsed daily with water. For stubborn stains, stain remover can be used.
Whiteboards with their many advantages have become the most prominent type of boards now. Their disadvantages can be easily overcome by properly maintaining them and using them the right way.
Discover how white boards can assist in establishing work flow or enhance presentations. Employing white boards puts the presenter in charge and are significant tools.

I’ve always been big on the idea of making the most of my time. While I genuinely do enjoy my work, I value my free time even more. After all, I work so hard in order to enjoy the lifestyle that I desire.
As a result, it’s critical that I’m entirely focused through the course of a work day. With so many distractions running rampant, it’s really easy to get thrown off track.
I’m going to share a few tips with you that I’ve developed as far as strategies go. These all help me stay completely attuned to my work, as once you develop these habits they’ll be a lot easier to keep in place.
People seldom realize how important it is to get a good night’s sleep. This one thing alone can up your productivity by more than you ever imagined if you’re getting an ample amount of sleep. On the same note, not getting enough of it can ruin a day’s work.
Everyone needs different amounts of sleep. Some need seven or eight hours, while others can function on six. Know your threshold and stay true to it.
Another important thing to do is to get some consistent exercise into your day. In doing this, you’ll be much more relaxed and your mind will be more focused.
In addition to that, it’ll give you more energy to endure through a day’s worth of hard work. Lastly, it helps you to sleep better at night, which in turn will lead to more productive days.
The final thing that I do is something I’d definitely recommend doing if you don’t. Listen to music through the day. Don’t watch TV and don’t listen to talk radio, as both of these will leave you paying attention to the words, and not to your work. Music will keep you grounded and focused.

There are websites that are really irritating to look at. Sometimes you can’t point them out but you still get this feeling that something is wrong and it is irritating. Some are identifiable though. Here are some of the common mistakes that can mar your web design.
First on the list is of course bad layout and bad web design.” Web designs of this type are usually tacky, unbalanced, or overloaded. Instead of being simply informative, they can cause headaches because of information overload. You have to create web designs that will give viewers a pleasant viewing experience. Pages that are slow to load are also not good for today’s viewers who are known to have short attention spans. This is especially irritating when there are load meters that show just how slow it is really loading. Keep pages lean and fast so that visitors are not bored.
Tacky and wild color schemes would make your web design look foolish with too bright colors. These colors would also make the text difficult to read. You would not want your visitors to squint while reading. Also, make sure that the spelling and grammar of your text is correct.
Errors in spelling and grammar can make visitors grimace and immediately leave your site.” A good web design would also have fonts that are of the appropriate style and size that fit the purpose of the site. Do not use fonts just because you fancy them. This goes along with the need to make sure that your site is readable and pleasant to browse through.
Another thing that visitors really dislike is the automatic music that plays when you open a web site. This is particularly irritating when the background music does not fit the subject matter. Add to this the difficulty to find the off switch for the music and you get a visitor who is just about ready to tear his hair off. To make your web design clean, you also have to avoid overloading it with ads especially the ones with really big banners. These ads should instead be well placed and well designed.

The idea of a physical one world seemed to be a distant dream a few decades ago. But with advancement that we have seen in the field of science and technology has made sure that it does not stay a dream. While it might not be possible to have a real world with no boundaries in near future but it has certainly become possible in the form of the virtual world by the advent of internet. Internet and web have made it easy to communicate within seconds with people on other side of the world. So, if we think about it internet is a world with boundaries that allows people to connect, share information and retrieve information from its vast resources.
There is no limit to information on the web and internet is genderless not limited to any race, ethnicity or nationality.
One of the wonderful things about web and internet is the creation of search engines. A search engine works like a catalog in a physical library.
It is better in the sense that the access for information is world wide, it keeps expanding and searching it is a matter of seconds.
It is a library with no borders and a global location. Searching the web via search engines is so popular nowadays that almost everyone from novice users to intellectuals use them to retrieve information. In order to correctly get the information you want, you will need practice and a few tricks.
It is also important to know how search engines retrieve information on the internet. With a knowledge base so wide, it is a huge task for search engines to bring quality information. Although search engines are not truly artificially intelligent yet but nowadays they are advanced enough to distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information.
However, we do know a few patterns the search engines use such as they pick websites or articles base on keyword the user has entered and if it exists in the website with certain density, the search engines bring back the results for the users. Similarly, the search engines are less impressed by graphics and focus more on the relevant information on the site.
Although they cannot read the content intelligently but nowadays to they are intelligent enough to find out which website contains relevant information and which website is trying to pretend that it has relevant information. Remember though, search engines are not people so they do tend to make mistakes while judging a website but nowadays it is less of a chance.
Use short, to the point and relevant keywords while searching and do not use long sentences. The chances will be that you will end up with variety of results and not so relevant ones as the search engines will use exact keywords for conducting search.
You will need to practice a bit before you can totally grasp the ways of searching web via search engines. Also, run your searches on more than one search engine against the same keywords to check which one contains the most relevant information for your query.
Be careful while using the information that you have retrieved by searching web via search engines because not everything on internet is genuine. Always check that the source you are using is credible. Learn tips and tricks to verify the source. Enjoy the e-library as it saves you a lot of time and speed seems to be everything these days.
They are all different places you can go and look for items. Google Search Engine Submission However, we are sure that we did not have to tell you this as it is not a secret. From now on when you look for something on the internet try many different search engines and see what you come up with.

Losing weight can be as difficult psychologically as it is physically. It can become a struggle if we have to make family meals; eating our own meagre diet whilst still having to prepare tempting fare for the others. How can we improve our lot, and continue to please the family?
Let’s start with portion sizes – whatever’s on our plate, if we want to lose weight we should eat less. So find yourself a plate that’s about two-thirds the normal size. You won’t feel so deprived, because you can still fill the plate when you serve up. Wait until the rest of your family or friends have started eating before you start. Then slowly savour every mouthful you take. (Not only will this prevent you from finishing much sooner than the rest, it will also leave you feeling more replete.)
Most family meals can be eaten when you’re dieting, if you restrict the amount of fat and carbohydrate on your plate. Make up for it with lots of vegetables. And avoid the temptation of crusty bread! For seconds, think carefully before you indulge yourself. A small baked apple is fine – simply leave out the custard or cream.
But you can get much cannier than that. Serve reduced calorie meals a couple of times a week to everyone – if they’re done well they won’t have a clue! Add garlic and herbs to macaroni, and bulk it out with plenty of veg. Then use a tin of tomatoes to enrich the sauce. Leave out the oil, but maybe add a touch of Greek yoghurt for creaminess.
Pick your meat and dairy items carefully when you shop. There can be a big difference in the calorific value of different beef products for example. The rest of your family will profit from less saturated fat, even if they don’t have weight issues. For a low-cal high-protein meal, serve turkey or chicken and stick to the skinless breast for yourself. Potatoes can be nice and filling for slimmers – just buy ones with a creamy texture. You won’t need to add butter before serving then.
Watch out for breakfast cereals – some are loaded with sugar so always read the ingredients before buying. Cereal bars are best avoided too – they look like a healthy snack, but most are incredibly sweet. We also probably consume a load of hidden calories in our drinks. Choose sodas with artificial sweeteners, and make them last longer than usual by adding ice.
Alcohol contains a lot of calories, so when you’re socialising it’s good to find some alternatives. Try drinking tomato juice with ice or spring water. Watered down apple juice makes a passable wine lookalike if you don’t want to be different from the crowd.
It’s obvious that we’re not going to lose weight if we continue as we are. But it’s amazing how a small shift here and there can dramatically help along the way.

Have you thought of creative financing?
You will love Alan Cowgill’s program on finding private lenders. While Alan was a special guest on my “Investing with the Stars” I had to give you the heads up all about it. For info on my Series, go to www.investingwiththestars.net/season3.
One of the strategies I use is Wholesaling houses and this has proven to be a quick money spinner for people in the real estate investing market. People all over are using creative financing to buy properties and then selling them quickly to make a large profit within the space of a couple of days. The great thing about creative financing is that you rarely need to put in a lot of your own money to buy a house, and you can quickly build up your income through wholesaling.
The best way to fund your deals is from private lenders, not the banks! Real estate investing has become a reality for thousands of people with little or no money. Imagine being able to buy a house for little or none of your own money and then selling it on to make a profit. This is exactly what having a private money lenders can do for you. This is a easier way to do real estate investing.
In order to find private lenders, all you need to do is a little bit of research to find people that are willing to lend you money and get a higher percentage than the bank’s will give to them.
When you use private lenders for your financing, you will have put little money down to purchase the home, and then you sell it on for a higher price and make an instant profit. Wholesaling houses has helped people to make money quickly and easily, and is a great way to start real estate investing. For more information on this go to: www.investingwiththestars.net/alan.htm

A survey just released has claimed an increased use of phones and the internet is undermining students’ ability to study and is a cause of poor grammar amongst many of today’s school children.
The Cranfield School of Management produced the report that blames children’s use of phones and the internet for what it claims are falling standards in study, research and written communication skills.
The paper claims that 90 per cent of students did most research on the internet, which is twice the proportion who did their research by traditional books. It also found that 60 percent pupils have admitted to copying work from the internet without spending significant time reading or understanding the work, with a staggering 25% thinking blind copying is an acceptable practice. English skills have also been seen to suffer with 3 in 10 students admit using text shortcuts in essays and coursework.
Andrew Kakabadse, of Cranfield School of Management, states : “Our research shows that technology obsession hinders spelling skills, implicitly encourages plagiarism, and disrupts classroom learning.” in an even handed manner.
The Research also found that mobile phones especially had a negative effect upon school discipline with pupils often ignoring rules on mobile phones at School. One third of pupils admitted to using their phone in class, Andrew Kakabadse continues “Despite school policies restricting mobile phone usage, students use the phone frequently, with the majority making calls from the toilets. The mobile phone continues to be a prime channel of social communication during the school day.”
The study also shows patterns of behaviour that it finds worrying; many pupils spent one to two hours a day on social networking sites. Most pupils had access to a computer before the age of 8, had used the internet by the age of 10 (with some doing so as young as 5), and joined social networking sites between the ages of 11 and 13. One in 10 (9%) have admitted to spending spend more than six hours a day online.
Due to the tone of the paper one wonders, if the writers expect education, learning and society at large to remain static? As technology changes education will change and adapt in response, as it does too many other social stimuli. Some of these changes will be positive others will be negative. The circulated highlights of this report seem only to focus on the negative aspects of this technological induced change, and is prone to ignore the vast potential for learning and communication technology offers today’s students
DECT Phones, mobiles. Cordless phones and other devices have been blamed for a fall instandards, but what we are seeing is sea change in the way people search for, deal with and store information.
